Were you at the song and dance festival? Your feet have blisters? Your ears feel clogged because of the noise!?
The quiet rustle of our surrounding forests strokes your ears, and the clean forest air heals the blisters and scratches caused by folk costumes, caps and hats. You no longer have to walk on hard asphalt and concrete, here you walk on soft moss and grass, so your joints and muscles can recover. Enough of the city noise, join us in the woods!
To help you understand better what this is about, let me tell you a recent story! A young farmer's wife in a neighbouring village heard rumours that some nice hikers who had recently visited Rabatalu had been astonished to find that there was not even a mobile reception in the thick forest and that the mosquitoes were as avid and large as winged Moscow rats in the old days. And in general, they said it was too quiet, you could just hear the sounds of nature. The children who were there with the family went to bring animals food, but unfortunately no animals were seen that time. You don't win the lottery with every ticket, and the same applies to meeting animals. We don't keep them in chains, and we don't have a handler to point them out when guests arrive. In this case, it was a true city lady who really hadn't found herself in the courtyard of one block of flats after another, but in a place where few had set foot, where there was little sign of human activity.
That's why people want to come here – away from the city and the noise. There are more forest creatures here than people per square kilometre. It is as mysterious a place as the underground bunkers and hideouts of the Voitka brothers. And for those who are afraid of refugees, you should know that they have not been seen here. But whom you can really see here, if you keep quiet, are various forest creatures and birds. It's their place and we are the guests. We have also heard that the Elistvere zoo is, to put it mildly, envious of the abundant fauna here, as are the botanical gardens for the rich flora here. It so happened that on the 1st of June, we had a great family day at Rabatalu, and a couple of families managed to follow the goat herd's easy jog from our pond to the forest. Perhaps those who know how to enjoy the moment get lucky more often. Imagine yourself in Rein Maran's nature documentary – this is what it looks like here. Welcome!
